With class sizes often just 5–10 students, Jen grew up in a close-knit community that shaped her strong work ethic and deep commitment to the island. She began her hospitality career as a teenager cleaning rooms at the historic Commodore Resort, home to Mr. Ed’s Bar & Grille, gaining early hands-on experience in guest service and operations. By 21, she was bartending at Mr. Ed’s and the Mist Pool Bar, quickly building skills in high-volume service, team coordination, and guest experience. Jen’s dedication led her into leadership, eventually becoming Hotel Manager. Over the years, she has worked in nearly every aspect of operations, including housekeeping, front desk, accounting, bar management, staffing, and property oversight, giving her true, ground-up expertise in island hospitality. Her and Steve married in 2009, and the two have built their businesses and family together on South Bass Island since. In 2020, Jen became co-owner of Put-in-Bay Golf Cart Depot, helping grow it into a trusted name in rentals, service, and sales. Her operational experience ensures clean, well-prepared carts, smooth check-in systems, and a strong focus on customer service.
